Game Operator (part-time)

Title: Game Operator
Position Type: part-time
Compensation: $15/hour
Location: New Haven, CT
At Escape New Haven, we have been innovating in the escape room industry since 2014. You will join a talented staff with a strong sense of camaraderie — many of us meet outside of work to watch movies, play board games, go to renaissance faires, attend each other’s shows, or just go out for drinks.
Game Operators are the face of Escape New Haven. You will be responsible for ensuring all of our guests have an exceptionally enjoyable and memorable experience from the moment they enter our venue until the moment they leave. While your main work will be game operation and customer service, you will also find regular opportunities to share & learn new skills, pick up extra shifts & responsibilities, make improvements to the venue, and contribute to new game designs.
  • Tuesdays 8:30 PM – 10 PM
  • Saturdays 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Sundays 12:30 PM – 6:30 PM
  • Genuine love of helping and serving others
  • Confidence speaking in front of large groups of people
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to responsibly handle challenging situations and perform multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to quickly develop proficiency in new tools and technology
  • Familiarity with and interest in escape rooms, games/puzzles, and/or immersive entertainment
  • Greeting players and briefing teams
  • Providing judicious hints/clues and encouragement based on your observation of players’ in-game progress
  • Facilitating the end-of-game experience (debrief, team photo, etc.)
  • Resetting games with 100% accuracy
  • Making spot repairs/replacements when needed
  • Maintaining a welcoming and clean atmosphere in our common spaces

Outdoor Game Coordinator (part-time)

Title: Outdoor Game Coordinator
Position Type: part-time
Compensation: $12/hour
Location: Mystic, CT
The Outdoor Game Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating our outdoor walkabout game, The Lost Totem, which takes place on the wooded trails at Fields of Fire Adventure Park in Mystic, CT. Your primary function will be greeting and checking in teams as they arrive, making sure they’re equipped to set off on the trails, and then retrieving their materials at the end of their game. You may do some light game-prop maintenance as needed.
  • Saturdays 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Sundays 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Genuine love of helping and serving others
  • Confidence speaking with and assisting guests
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to responsibly and accurately process payment transactions
  • Familiarity with and interest in escape rooms, games/puzzles, and/or immersive entertainment a plus
  • Greeting players and briefing teams
  • Facilitating the end-of-game experience
  • Accurately processing payments
  • Making spot repairs/replacements as needed
  • Maintaining a welcoming and clean atmosphere
