Meet the Team: Cole, Game Operator + Quartermaster

Cole is a game operator and quartermaster — meaning she not only runs games for teams, but is also responsible for ordering, rationing and organizing all supplies at Escape New Haven. Cole joined Escape shortly after Thanksgiving 2017 and has done an incredible job cleaning the back offices and storage spaces, as well as brightening up people’s days with her cheery demeanor.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she did her thesis work studying primate behavior in the Costa Rican rainforest. As many people unsolicitedly predicted throughout her four years of undergrad, Cole is not using her anthropology degree as an anthropologist. Rather, she is excited to be part of the Escape team, where her love of puzzles, mysteries, and gaming come together.

When Cole is not at Escape, she is at Air Temple Arts, owned by Escape colleague Stacey. She trains aerial silks, aerial hoop (lyra), hand balancing, and contortion. Cole plans to one day unceremoniously abandon Escape New Haven to join the circus. Just kidding. Unless she actually gets the chance to…

She also likes hiking and camping, painting, embroidering, writing/decorating mail for pen pals, playing video games on the easiest difficulty setting, and watching murder mystery shows of all kinds — especially the ones on the BBC. Cole loves riddles and reading all kinds of mystery books (cozy mysteries, thrillers, classic Christie/Doyle, etc.). It’s rare to see her not drinking hot tea. Cole challenges anyone and everyone reading our blog to a game of Monopoly. She’ll even let you pick the version!

She has two great regrets in life: that we’ll never know what the perfect crime is, and that she was never in the Lord of the Rings movies.
